Asheville Historic Tours
My walking tour of Asheville history and architecture includes stories gathered from over 50 hours of oral history interviews of families who were connected to the retail trade in Asheville. On my tours we explore the history exhibit in Pack Place, learn about the love of Guastivino for his church, talk of Grove who died from the hiccups which brought him to Asheville and how Harry Blomberg saved the Thomas Wolfe house and more. The stories are the main material of the tour. I do the tours by appointment. My website is www.history-at-hand.com and my project; The Family store still has some panels which can be viewed at Pack Place and on Patton and S. Lexington.
