Melissa Kay Glaze (Padma) has been a resident and local artist of Asheville, NC since September of 2007. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from East TN State University in Johnson City, TN. While in school she began making trips over to Asheville and felt that the city would be a good place to call home. Since living here she has been written about in the Rapid River and the Mountain Express. She has shown her work at galleries and restaurants throughout town including Pura Vida, Atelier 24, Affordable Treasures, The Grove Arcade, ans Salsa's. She has done numerous live paints with local bands such as, Crystal Kind, East Coast Dirt, and Phuncle Sam. As well as live painting for various festivals and benefits such as LAAFF (Lexington Avenue Arts and Fun Festival) 2008, and 2009, The Roller Girls Benefit 2009, The Asheville Art Museum's 60th Anniversary Party, The Drone Valley Music Fest 2009, and The Flat Rock Music Festival 2009. She also works with arts2people and the Asheville Mural Project as one of the designers for the upcoming agricultural mural to be created under the bridge on Lexington Avenue.
